Introduction

Temperature and humidity, plays vital role in silkworm rearing and production of quality reeling cocoons. Rearing activity in sericulture deals with livestock of silkworms for a period of minimum 26 days and yielding of quality Bivoltine / Improved Cross breed cocoons without any crop failure is an achievement to sericulture farmers.
To encourage sericulture farmers to continue the rearings for production of quality Bivoltine / Improved Cross Breed reeling cocoons, an incentive of Rs.50/- per kg for BV reeling cocoons and Rs.10/- per kg (for Anantapuramu and Chittor dists) and Rs.20/- per kg (for rest of the districts in the State) for Improved Cross breed Cocoons is provided under the scheme with 100% assistance.
Providing incentive to Bivoltine Cocoons produced by the farmers has been proved as a critical intervention for development of Bivoltine Sericulture.
Further, in order to assist Tasar farmers in Tribal areas an amount of Rs 1000/- per 1000 nos cocoons is provided as cocoons incentive on production of Tasar cocoons with 100% assistance.
